UNT’s Policy Number 18.1.12 states, “ ‘Hazing’ means any intentional, knowing, or reckless act, occurring on or off campus of an educational institution, by one person alone or acting with others, directed against a student, that endangers the mental or physical health or safety of a student of the purpose of pledging, being initiated into, affiliating with, holding office in, or maintaining membership in an organization.” (“UNT Policy Office”)
According to ‘HazingPrevention.org’, “55% of college students involved in clubs, teams, and organizations experience hazing practices common across all types of student groups” (“Hazing Information”) . The University of North Texas holds about 350 student organizations; so statistically speaking, 55% of the thousands of students involved in UNT organizations could be affected by hazing. Worst possible scenario, hazing can lead to severe physical injury or even death.
In 2003, UNT suspended Sigma Alpha Epsilon for four years due to violating hazing policies. UNT News wrote, “The UNT Division of Student Development and the fraternity’s national headquarters imposed the suspension in response to investigations several allegations of hazing, alcohol and physical abuse violations this semester that culminated in an off campus incident on Oct. 12 (Sunday). At that time a freshman pledge to the fraternity was found unconscious on Oak Street and transported to Denton Community Hospital.” (“UNT News”)

What is the cost of goods sold (COGS)? How is it computed? What two financial reports does it impact and how?
Championship Sporting Goods started March with an inventory of 9 sets of golf clubs that cost a total of $1,350. During March, Charmpionship purchased 27 sets of clubs for $4,320. At the end of the month, Championship had 8 sets of golf clubs on hand. The store manager must select an inventory costing method, and he asks you to tell him both cost of goods sold and ending inventory under these three accounting methods:
a. Average cost (round average unit cost to the nearest cent)
b. FIFO
c. LIFO
